MUA | Product Breakdown: Kira

Welcome to the first of many blog posts detailing my journey as a makeup artist. A lot of the times, we look at social media and stare in awe at some of the amazing artistry that you see in your feed. What I find missing from our social space is the natural, clean, glowing beauty that enhances the skin and the contours of our faces. None of that full coverage, matte, contour the heck out of your face and add a blinding highlight nonsense.

In the MUA series, I'll be showcasing some of my favourite looks and explaining what I used in my most requested ones. Feel free to ask about whatever looks that come your way.

Ok first of all, she already did half the job for me. Her skin, brows and bone structure were to die for!

BASE: Nars Sheer Glow Foundation. It's a great 'event' foundation because it photographs really well and when massaged into the skin, can look flawless and undetectable.

BROWS: bareMinerals Frame & Define Brow Styler in Universal Brunette. This has the perfect tip for feathering brows and filling in little gaps. Brushed through with the Glossier Boy Brow in Brun/Brown

CHEEKS: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light and Radiant Light across the face and on the cheeks. To enhance that sunkissed bronzed look, I added a bit of Hourglass Ambient Bronzing Powder in Radiant Bronze Light. This almost added a warm blush to her skin that I just chose to skip the blush. Highlight was a mix of MAC Extra Dimension Highlight in Oh Darling and Stila Kitten eyeshadow - a classic in my kit.

EYES: Too Faced Peach Palette combined with Stila Soul palette. I didn't want to go too orange and warm on the eyes, so I kept to some warm bronze tones and mixed in a few dark brown matte shades from the Soul palette. I found these colours worked extremely well and the matte shades weren't too ashy.

LASHES: Ardell Demi Wispies. Great for a feline shape eye.

LIPS: Kept it simple with MAC Whirl Lipliner and a bit of Mecca Cosmetica Lip De Luscious.

HAIR: I used my Remington Conical Curling wand and sectioned her head into 3-4 parts. Curled each layer opposite to the one below and went through with Loreal Elnett hairspray and worked some Ouai Finishing Creme to reduce frizz.
