Product Review | Omorovicza Miracle Facial Oil

Kim Pham October 13, 2019

The Philosophy

Based on the rich culture of bathing and the thermal baths of Hungary, Omorovicza was born out of one of the most beautiful healing springs in the world. A family heritage in the Omorovicza clan, the founders sought to bring the healing properties into the skincare world. The rich thermal waters are what fuels this brand and it's what I appreciate from their story. There is so much to learn from our ancestors and how they went about healing their bodies. That's why I couldn't wait to try this so-called 'Miracle Facial Oil'

The Product

It claims to have a similar effect to retinol, which I have yet to try myself, so I can't really give any opinion to whether it is a close alternative. The luxury oil is said to instantly hydrate, impart a supple radiance and, blur lines and wrinkles.

The Application

I love a good oil and basically my skin can take in the heavier kind because its less porous than oilier/combo skin types. The Miracle Facial Oil is unlike the rest of the oils I've tried. Upon application, you instantly feel smooth, hydrated and soft. It has a fairly slow absorption time (meaning you'll have that oily glow for a good 30mins-hr depending on your skin) but doesn't feel like a thick layer on the skin. 2-3 drops is plenty! Don't go overboard with this stuff. It's comfortable enough to wear to bed, maybe not so comfortable for daytime wear under makeup. It says to mix in with moisturise for the day, so if you like an extra boost in the morning definitely give it a go.

The Results

I've used this for almost 3 months now and have barely hit the 1/3 mark. Safe to say, it lasts a long time. In the first few weeks, I saw a change in the surface texture of my skin. Only applying at night time, I would wake up with porcelain smooth skin without any stickiness. Usually, with my other heavier oils, I would wake up with a bit of tack in the morning that I would have to wash off. Not this guy.

After the 2 month mark, my small patch of stubborn pigmentation on my forehead was gradually lightening. Sadly, I noticed it revert back to its dark self when I (stupidly) stopped using the oil in NYC and waited to come home to use it.

At the 3 month mark, my overall complexion is blurred and ultra plump. I wouldn't say it gives you the results of a kojic acid/arbutin/licorice, etc., but its a great supplement to your brightening actives in a skincare routine. Due to the natural alternative to retinol (discussed later), my results are far from what you may get in 6 months to a year. So, I'll keep you updated.

The Rundown

Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Caprylic/capric Triglyceride, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Bakuchiol, Borago Officinalis Seed Oil, Gossypium Herbaceum (Cotton) Seed Oil, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Linum Usitatissimum (Linseed) Seed Oil, Parfum (Fragrance) , Hippophae Rhamnoides Oil, Algae (Alaria Esculents) Extract, Brassica Campestris (Rapeseed) Seed Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Tocopherol, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Linalool, Geraniol, Cinnamyl Alcohol.

— Oils of sea buckthorn berry, rosehip and sweet almond hydrate, repair skin’s lipid matrix and provide antioxidant defence.

— Bakuchiol, extracted from the bakuchi seed, is a natural alternative to retinol, reducing the depth and appearance of wrinkles and fine lines by boosting collagen production.

— Winged kelp extract acts as a powerful antioxidant that restores elasticity and firmness.

The website couldn't have said it better. They acknowledge their predominant oil (sweet almond oil) as their carrier for all their other active ingredients. I love that their Bakuchiol oil is listed so highly on the list. Higher on the list = higher concentration. Because its an oil, it's a lot better to see these ingredients so high on the list as they make up most of the bottle. I love seeing evening primrose oil in there, it's a great anti-inflammatory and amazing for healing the surface of your skin. High doses of antioxidants are in all the oils, so you can be sure you're preventing a lot of environmental damage, sun damage, pollution, etc.

Overall, I love this oil. Makeup applies so well during the day (when mixed with moisturiser) and feels luxurious at night when ending the day. It has allowed me to use less of my skin care products due to it's rich texture and absorption time.

Great for: Dry skin types. Oily/Combo you'll love it in small doses.

Perfectly paired with: Brightening serums, lightweight emulsions, and definitely SPF.

Try it if you're: wanting more of an even skin tone and a natural, slower result of a retinol.

Price: $158 AUD

I saw myself constantly gravitating toward these pencils and so I felt the need to review. Extremely blendable and versatile, the @makeupforever Pencils have now become a staple in my kit. I can’t wait for some fun colours to be released. Shades mentioned: ✨ Endless Cacao (greyish brown) ✨ Limitless Brown (warm, dark brown) ✨ Wherever Walnut (neutral rose) ✨ Anywhere Caffeine (warm spice brown)

A new favourite added to the collection. It literally combines all the scents I grew up with. It’s insanely fresh whilst enveloping you in a warm spicy cloud. I prefer scents that aren’t overpowering to my nose but still remain interesting (especially if you stand close by). @shiro_japan Spice of Life
