Product Review | MAC x Pony Park Collection

Kim Pham November 6, 2019

Quite possibly one of the hardest collections to get my hands on. Only hours after the launch, the palette was sold out of most MAC stores and MECCA stores were slowly following. But, I was so up for the challenge because let's face it, her collection is stunning. I didn't realise the immense popularity of Pony in little old Australia until this launch and now I won't underestimate it.

Here's a little quick review on the products I was able to nab. Hope you guys enjoy!

Hocus Pocus Eyeshadow Palette:

The shadow quality is phenomenal, as expected from MAC eyeshadows. The mattes are buttery, smooth and blend effortlessly. The pigment is true to colour and builds perfectly. The finish is smooth, especially the glitter shades. They apply evenly without primer and only faded at the end of the day. I love the finish of the glitters the most, you don't find many textures like these in Western makeup products.

Left to Right: One Hit (warm nude), Moot Point (brick, rose red), Stone’s Throw (deep berry purple), My Better Half (vibrant warm-toned red).

Matte Lip Mousse:

Feathery, mousse texture leaving a lightweight, powdery finish. The cons are definitely lasting power. After a few sips of water, the lipsticks come off and leaves a nice stain. However, for someone who has incredibly dry lips all the time, the stain wasn't the most flattering. Other than that, her colour choices were great and the nude shade (One Hit) is the most flattering (also the hardest thing to find). After that, I love Moot Point, My Better Half, and Stone's Throw.

Extra Dimension Skin Finish Sky’s the Limit:

Speckled, finely milled sunshine in a powder. This highlighter is beautifully reflective with hints of pearl and orange glitter. It may look like glitter but on the skin, it gives an editorial quality to the skin. It layers elegantly so you don't get that mirror finish on the skin, instead, it looks like you’re glowing from within.

The artwork for this collection has got to be my favourite of the MAC launches this year. Pony designed and drew the artwork to git her interests in the magic arts yet it still reflects the MAC quality through the packaging. No crazy glitter, cheap-looking plastics, just elegant matte packaging that you'd be proud to take out of your bag.

I saw myself constantly gravitating toward these pencils and so I felt the need to review. Extremely blendable and versatile, the @makeupforever Pencils have now become a staple in my kit. I can’t wait for some fun colours to be released. Shades mentioned: ✨ Endless Cacao (greyish brown) ✨ Limitless Brown (warm, dark brown) ✨ Wherever Walnut (neutral rose) ✨ Anywhere Caffeine (warm spice brown)

A new favourite added to the collection. It literally combines all the scents I grew up with. It’s insanely fresh whilst enveloping you in a warm spicy cloud. I prefer scents that aren’t overpowering to my nose but still remain interesting (especially if you stand close by). @shiro_japan Spice of Life
