Product Review | Westman Atelier

Inspired by Gucci Westman's plethora of experience in the beauty industry, Westman Atelier was born. Her inability to find clean, luxury beauty that is both pigment rich and effective became her driving point for this range. (we'll touch on this later). Years of tireless energy and product development experience from Lancome brought out this curated, exquisite range. The packaging itself had me sold.

Vital Skin Foundation Stick

Formulated with a mix of natural and minimal synthetic ingredients, this is an incredibly creamy foundation. It leaves the skin with satin finish despite its camellia oil base. Unlike other stick foundations, this one was light and provided a solid medium coverage which could be built. When I first tried it, it was quite dry and didn't glide onto my skin. I was using too little and didn't skin prep properly. You want to have well hydrated, even oil prepped skin for this to work like a dream. Great for that 3 o'clock makeup touch up.

The camellia is a soothing oil, making it great for people who have rosacea.

It mixes well when you apply oil underneath, which is the look I prefer as it retains a dewy finish all day. Primer is needed if you want this to last all day! It has a 3-5 hr lasting power but if you're a one application a day kind of gal, you need to have a primer and set it with powder.

Westman suggests to build the base with 2 colours, 1 lighter colour in the centre and a colour a shade darker than you on the outskirts of the face. I love this technique for a natural contour and would only suggest it if it's in your budget.

Baby Cheeks Blush Stick

If you're looking for the most blendable blush and contour, look no further. The Baby cheeks are seriously next level in terms of colour, ease of use, and effect it gives to the skin. My favourite colour is poppet. It's a bright fuchsia which remains flattering on all skin tones and is the PERFECT colour to brighten anyone's complexion. If it's good for Gucci its good for me. The other colours are beautiful and totally safe for everyday use, but seriously give POPPET a try. You won't regret. They blend effortlessly and are stunning on the cheeks and lips.

Formulated with jojoba oil, raspberry cells and pigment rich colour, this baby helps to plump the skin whilst providing anti-inflammatory benefits. It's also VEGAN.

Face Trace Contour Stick

What a well thought-out colour. Now I know contour has been around FOREVER, but there are good cream contours and there are bad cream contours. This one is a winner. Gucci was super meticulous with the colour itself. Ensuring there was the right blend of purples, browns, amber, yellows, just to get the right shade of shadow. Yes, contour looking like a real shadow. It blends into nothing, which is what you want! I would love to see a red toned contour for deeper skin.

The biomimicry pigments help this formula to blend into the skin tone (probably not all skin tones), ensuring a flawless finish.

Super Loaded Tinted Highlight

Peau de Peche. I can't rave about this product enough. It's buttery, it's rose-gold, it's flattering on EVERY skin tone. What more do you want! Think of brushing a droplets of unicorn glimmer on your skin that makes you look like you bathed in the fountain of youth all your life. That's it in a compact. It makes your skin look wet, yet natural and smells divine! Now I know why, when its formulated with hyaluronic spheres, jojoba oil and caper extract, you know you'll get the juiciest skin.

Everyone knows I love a glow, so this i s the perfect companion to all my complexion products.

Lit Up Highlight Stick

Suitable for all skin tones, glossy, flattering, everything! I've used this everywhere, under foundation, eyes, cheeks, lips, and always receive compliments. It's a beautiful blue-toned transparent highlighter that gives the skin a water-like finish. Reminds me a lot of RMS Living Luminiser with a different undertone.

Can we also take a moment to appreciate the packaging? The colours, the weight of the product, the little sleeves for each product. STOP!

I would love to see her range go into the recycling stage, due to such an emphasis on beautiful packaging. Like the MAC trade in 5 for 1 deal.

Overall, a well thought-out, curated range kept small. It's a message to the brands who bring out launch after launch thus overwhelming the us and the whole industry. I believe everything is VEGAN except the Super Loaded Tinted Highlight. Her brushes are also amazing! Made by hakuhodo with quality synthetic fibres.
